Katie's Story

Katie Lloyd (14) has been attending Florida Camp for six years. After she heard about the theme for camp this year, "Adopted in Christ," she knew she wanted to help make a difference.

Katie enjoys showing animals with the High Springs Community School Future Farmers of America program. She worked with her goat, Racecar, for five months and then competed in the Alachua County Youth Fair. Part of this process is inquiring buyers to purchase her goat. She sent 40 letters to potential buyers explaining that part of the proceeds from this sale would be donated to helping a family adopt a child. Katie met and exceeded her monetary goal and is excited to bring her donation to camp.

At camp each year, Katie's favorite activity is worshipping with her friends and family. She is very athletic and enjoys the society competitions throughout the week. Katie wants to make a difference because she believes adoption is important in addition to helping others!

Thank you, Katie! We are excited to have you back at camp this summer.
